Greater Cincinnati has long claimed a right to call itself a flavoring powerhouse, and a recent location decision from Israel-based Frutarom helps cement that claim.
One of the 10 largest flavoring companies in the world, Frutarom develops and manufactures high-quality flavors and fine ingredients for food, beverage, flavor, fragrance, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. In 2015, the company decided to locate its U.S. headquarters in West Chester, Ohio.
Why Greater Cincinnati?
The company started looking for a new North American headquarters location in 2014.
After searching across the U.S., Frutarom found what it needs in Greater Cincinnati.
“The company identified other potential locations for its headquarters,” said Aaron Wiegand, community development director for West Chester Township. “In the end, West Chester and Greater Cincinnati’s story was simply too strong to overcome.”
The company joined other strong flavor manufacturers, such as MANE and Archer-Daniels-Midland, already located in the region. Additionally, many end-user customers are members of Greater Cincinnati’s manufacturing portfolio.
“Frutarom’s story will continue to inspire and motivate future success stories in our region’s foreign investment outreach,” said Wiegand.
Room to grow
In January 2015, Frutarom announced it would create 45 new jobs in West Chester for the move of the headquarters and expansion of flavor and fine ingredient manufacturing. This move is just one success story that could make it easier for other international companies to choose Greater Cincinnati.
