CINCINNATI – March 1, 2024 – For the 21st straight year, Site Selection magazine has recognized the Cincinnati Region as one of its Top-10 Metros for corporate facility investment as part of its 2023 Governor’s Cup Awards.

“This sustaining accomplishment is further proof that the Cincinnati region continues to punch above its weight class,” said Kimm Lauterbach, REDI Cincinnati president and CEO. “While we are the 30th largest MSA in the country, we stand as the No. 8 metro in per capita rankings. For more than 20 consecutive years, we have demonstrated a positive business climate, access to talent and focus on innovation that ensures success for businesses that expand and locate to the region.”

Ohio ranked third in the Top State ranking and fifth in per capita rankings due in part to JobsOhio, its six regional networks—including REDI Cincinnati—and the numerous economic development partners throughout the state. Indiana was No. 7 in the Top State ranking and sixth in per capita rankings. Kentucky led the tri-state in the top per capita, checking in at No. 3.

REDI Cincinnati and the Cincinnati region have a strong history of success in the Site Selection rankings. In addition to the 21-straight years of being ranked in the Governor’s Cup, REDI and its partner BE NKY Growth Partnership have been named among the top 20 regional economic development groups in the Mac Conway Awards for the past nine years. And, in the publication’s initial Global Groundwork Index, which evaluates corporate facility investment, job growth and infrastructure investment, the Cincinnati region was fifth.

The 70-year-old Atlanta-based magazine has awarded the Governor’s Cup annually since 1988, based on new and expanded corporate facilities as tracked by the proprietary Conway Projects Database. Site Selection, published by Conway Inc., is the senior publication in the corporate real estate and economic development fields and is the official publication of the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC). Site Selection’s yearly analyses are regarded by corporate real estate analysts as “the industry scoreboard.”
