Greater Cincinnati on Top: Region Emerges as One of the Country’s Hottest to Live, Work and Play
The Greater Cincinnati region just closed a remarkable year. In 2017, our economy was strengthened by new and expanding businesses and entrepreneurs. Millions were invested in our world-class arts and museum venues. Elected leaders unveiled plans to increase our region’s sustainability and use of renewable energy. Our educational institutions forged deeper investments and partnerships to enhance the talent of our region. Meanwhile, companies from Amazon and Safran to Ensemble Health doubled down on their local presence, expanded operations and anchored growth in our region.
The numbers speak loudly: 4,202 new jobs, $362.85 million in capital investments and $179.95 million in new payroll.
If you took notice of how our national reputation is rising, you weren’t alone. See below for a month-by-month roundup of the more than four dozen accolades our region earned in 2017 (and a few from 2016, too). These rankings come from financial publications, lifestyle sites and federal indices alike — and they all point to Greater Cincinnati as one of the most exciting, vibrant and ambitious cities in the country today.
