Mitsubishi Electric Selects Mason, Ohio, Location for New International Investment
MASON, Ohio, July 27, 2026 – The city of Mason, Ohio, was selected as the location for a new company, MEHITS US, Inc. (MEHITS US), in collaboration with Italy-based Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A. (MEHITS), leveraging a long-established campus on Bethany Road. This investment will advance industrial air conditioning solutions for comfort, process and customized IT cooling, utilizing a 154,000 sq. ft. space for manufacturing and a technology laboratory to provide customized engineering, manufacturing, factory testing and responsive local service throughout the U.S.

This initiative represents a meaningful, long-term commitment to U.S.-based manufacturing, job creation and continued innovation to contribute to a vibrant and sustainable community. MEHITS manufactures a broad portfolio of cooling products spanning small room units to large-scale cooling systems. In the United States, these products reach customers through an established network of Mitsubishi Electric affiliates, giving the new company an existing commercial network upon which to build.

The City of Mason, REDI Cincinnati and the State of Ohio worked to develop an incentive package that made this international investment a reality, acknowledging the critical infrastructure this investment brings to the advanced manufacturing supply chain in Ohio. Mason City Council approved incentives, including a 15-year Community Reinvestment Area Tax Abatement based on future metrics for jobs and payroll, at its July 13 meeting. In addition, JobsOhio authorized a 1.682 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project on July 27.

The Mason campus has a 38-year legacy of advanced manufacturing with eight expansions to accommodate growth over the years. Originally established by Mitsubishi Electric Manufacturing Cincinnati (MELMAC), the company’s first deliveries began in July 1988. According to the company, the site remains an important strategic location for this technical infrastructure investment with its experienced talent pool.
