THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Cincinnati Red Bike
Through the Cincinnati region’s popular bike-sharing program, riders can borrow bikes from more than 50 stations strategically placed across the Cincinnati region. Since launching in 2014, program organizers have reported more than 363,000 rides and counting.
Flying Pig Marathon
Runners from all over the world converge each spring in the Queen City for this premier race event that honors Cincinnati’s “Porkopolis” heritage. Held on the first Sunday in May, the two-decade-old race regularly inspires record turnout. The Flying Pig series includes an all-women race in October and a beer-inspired series that runs throughout the year – because who doesn’t enjoy a little beer at the end of a long race?
Parks and Recreation
Whether you’re looking to spend the day with the family at the multi-skill-level Cincinnati Nature Center, kayak with a group on one of our well-preserved waterways, or challenge yourself to an uphill bike ride, the Cincinnati region is home to numerous urban parks and well-maintained park systems outside the urban core. The Cincinnati Parks Department manages more than 10 percent of city land, which means our region is a pretty green place – even in the urban core. Throughout the region, you will discover unique sculptures, beautiful green spaces, and fun community activities in each neighborhood.
