REDI Cincinnati celebrates strong 2015
REDI Cincinnati capped off a successful 2015 during its annual meeting on March 23. The organization celebrated the following wins:
- 65 total project wins
- 7,647 new jobs
- 8,206 retained jobs
- $1.22 billion in capital investment
Combined, those projects made a substantial impact on the regional economy. One quarter of those wins came from foreign direct investment, or companies from other countries choosing to create a U.S. location in Greater Cincinnati.
Attraction projects and foreign direct investment only tell part of the story. More than 50 of REDI’s closed projects came from regional companies choosing to expand in place. Companies like FirstGroup America, Inc., The Kroger Co., Assurex Health, Inc. and ADVICS Manufacturing Ohio, Inc. all chose to create more jobs and commit to more capital investment at current locations in Greater Cincinnati.
“The entire region saw strong growth in 2015,” said Johnna Reeder, president & CEO of REDI Cincinnati. “Greater Cincinnati is experiencing this success because of the collaborative spirit that exists throughout the region. We’re proud to work with strong local economic developers, business leaders, government officials and other regional partners. It’s been a phenomenal year for Greater Cincinnati. These results show the commitment to our region and to economic development.”
