REDI Cincinnati Announces Five JobsOhio Small Business Grant Recipients

CINCINNATI – October 2, 2024 – REDI Cincinnati announces that five local companies have been awarded the JobsOhio Small Business Grant to accelerate their business growth.

“Since the program’s inception, REDI Cincinnati has partnered with JobsOhio to help 80 small businesses generate 524 new jobs, $31 million in new payroll and $13.2 million in capital investment across southwest Ohio,” said Kevin Donnelly, REDI Cincinnati vice president for project management. “These grants are transformative for small businesses, empowering them to achieve new levels of growth, specifically for businesses owned by underrepresented groups, including minorities, women, veterans and individuals with disabilities.”

Below is the list of companies receiving JobsOhio Small Business Grants in Q3.

  • Compliance Insight (West Chester) – A woman-owned consulting firm with 25 years in the region, helping FDA-regulated life science businesses navigate regulations, achieve compliance, and develop best practices. The company’s growth will add jobs, solidifying its leadership in the pharmaceutical, medical devices and biologics sectors.
  • Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (College Hill) – Founded in 1903, Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired serves the BVI community through social enterprise and therapeutic and recreational programming. Clovernook will use the grant to add new jobs and expand its leading braille printing business to include business cards, brochures and packaging with tactile QR codes.
  • Mertz Design Inc. (Blue Ash) – is a woman-owned design firm serving clients in the life sciences, consumer packaged goods and tech industries. The company will use the grant to hire new employees and upgrade its technology.
  • Sweet Butter Bakery (Lockland) – is a woman-owned commercial bakery that provides Jewish baked goods and other specialty desserts for business-to-business clients. The Kosher-certified company will add employees and expand its production capacity and offerings.
  • Solutions Plus, Inc., (Amelia) – is a woman-owned, veteran-owned chemical manufacturing company that markets a complete line of cleaners, lubricants, sealers, rust inhibitors and sanitizers. The company specializes in the needs of the transportation, industrial and paper mill industries.

JobsOhio Small Business Grant program supports businesses that are either serving distressed communities or have ownership from underrepresented-populations, such as minorities, women, veterans and people with disabilities.
